London Gig Review...

London Concert Review.
I hadn’t been to a TV event before, the tickets said arrive by 3:45pm, me and my mate, arrived at just before three and joined the queue outside the venue. About ten people stood in front of us, luckily we seemed to have arrived just at the right time as suddenly the queue started growing and growing. Now this was a cold day and standing around made it even colder, thank god my mate had an extra scarf, I wrapped it around me and we set ourselves up for the wait ahead, which lasted over an hour but it seemed to go really quickly, evidently because I was excited to meet Anastacia.

Around four the Sony guy came out let in the privileged people (competition winners, or media I guess) in to the venue, knowing it was first come first basis I was freaking out we wouldn’t get in, even though there was only now seven-ish people ahead of us. The Sony guy reappears asks for our tickets and we where let in to the venue. Going down a few flights of stairs we arrived in a funky studio all set with the band instruments, music blaring, paid my dews on extremely high volume creating a fantastic atmosphere, lights where going, smoke filled the air it looked the business. Quickly we tucked ourselves in near the front of stage and waited nervously for Anastacia to appear. A studio guy stood on stage, asking the audience to cheer apparently to get sound levels, more likely to heat the crowd up to look excited (like that needed doing) then the guy announces ‘two minutes and Anastacia will be on stage’ see this is the time it hit me, I was in the same building let alone the same room, let alone about to be feet from the lady herself. And then it happened; Anastacia appeared on stage and the crowd irrupted, applauding, cheering. Anastacia seemed a little taken back by the irrupttious applause, headed for the mic and went in to a speech about how her fans helped her through her illness, good to be back etc. Then she goes straight into performing. Again the crowd goes pretty damn wild. Now we know Anastacia can sing, has an extremely powerful voice but up close 100% live, wow, out of this world. You could feel the bass vibrating in your chest, every word you could understand the room was filled with such energy. Now Anastacias jewellery, oh my god! bling bling is an understatement, her clothes awesome her voice out of this world. So after performing, cracking jokes between set ups, Anastacia sat down for her interview from fans (more like media people) asking her questions, after this Anastacia then performed left outside alone again, crowd go even more wild. It was noticeable Anastacia did start to look tired nearing the end, but we have to remember this was her first gig after returning from cancer, it was all live and she was probably as nervous as I was and I simply had to listen, dance and cheer her on.

I had such a high after the gig, me and my mate went to a pub had a calm our nerves drink and headed home on the train, recalling our experience in great detail, but it was a rather surreal experience I was like ‘we met anastacia’ then ten minutes after, ‘dude we met anastacia.’ It took some time to stink in, so much so I know I will remember the day forever! My review of the day may come across a little corny but Anastacia is an inspiration. The event was a dream come true for me and now I can’t wait to hear Anastacia kick some arse in London come November, as at the London gig I know she will damn well rock.
